If you want to share a file, but only with limited number of people, and you want to limit the access to this particular file, an easy way to do that is use a password on the PDF document. So in this video, were just going to do that. And its easy and quick inside docHub Pro DC. So by default, when you open a document inside docHub, and I already have a document open, you may get the options to my right, where we have the Create PDF, up to the more tools. And then theres an option called protect. If this is not available, you can go up to the tools and scroll down. If this ribbon is still up, just scroll down and click on protect. Windows users have many ways to encrypt or password protect PDFs for free. If your computer comes with a Microsoft Office license, you can do it in two steps. First, open the document, click on the Info tab, Protect Document, and then Encrypt with Password.
Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password.
Encrypt files Click Encrypt Files ( ) to open the Security panel. Drag a security scheme to encrypt the attachments or the envelope file. Under Certificate Security, select Interactive to place Digital ID security through the Certificate Security Settings wizard.
A permissions password (also known as a master password) requires a password to change permission settings. Using a permissions password, you can restrict printing, editing, and copying content in the PDF. Recipients dont need a password to open the document in Reader or Acrobat.
How to unlock a PDF to remove password security: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Remove Security: The options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document.
Open the Foxit PDF on your device. Choose Protect Secure Document Password Protect, or you could click File Properties Security. Then, choose Password protection from the drop-down list. In the Password Protection dialog box, select the types of restrictions you want and set the password.
How to add passwords and permissions to PDF files: Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired. Click OK and then click Save.
Use Microsoft Offices Built-in Encryption Tool Open a Word document via Microsoft Word. Click File and choose Save As. Select Browse where the PDF will be saved. Pick PDF (*.pdf) from the Save as type dropdown. Hit the Option button. Enable the Encrypt the document with a password option then click OK.
Click the Select a file button above or drag and drop a PDF into the drop zone. Enter a password, then retype it to confirm the password. Click Set password. Download the password protected PDF document, or sign in to share it.
Go to the Open Files option and open the password-protected PDF file to convert protected PDF to unprotected. You will have to enter the password to unlock the file. A pop-up window will appear. Enter your password, and click on the OK option.
