hi my name is Brian and this is how to copy and paste large blocks of text now sometimes youre gonna want to take a bunch of text lets say from a website or something like that and paste it into a document like a word processor like Microsoft Word sometimes the amount of text you have to copy and paste is gigantic so Im gonna show you how to easily copy and paste that amount of text so I have a bunch of text here that I want to copy and paste as you can see theres a lot of scrolling down to get all of it so a quick and easy way to highlight all this text is to go to edit and then select all and that will select everything on the webpage but when you do that that also selects a lot of other things that are on the website so the quickest and easiest way select just the text you want is to highlight the amount of text at the beginning that you want hold down shift and then click where you want to stop highlighting and that will copy just the text that you want

If you suppose copy SAMPLE TEXT to some editor like MS WORD, then using paste, the text will be pasted with all the formatting data i.e. bold, itallic and underline. If you choose paste as plain text then the formatting will be removed and what youll get is SAMPLE TEXT.
You might be familiar with this shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V (Cmd + Shift + V on Mac)its also called keep text only or paste plain textbecause of its popularity in other applications like Microsoft Teams, Word for the web, Google, and Gmail.
Use Ctrl + Alt + V (or Cmd + Alt + V on a Mac) to open the Paste Special window. Here, select Unformatted Text to paste in plain text. Finally, if youd like, you can set the default paste option in Word to always paste in plain text. Head to File Options and select the Advanced tab on the left.
(In the editing ribbon, the paste icon looks like a clipboard with a piece of paper on top of it.
Keep Text Only: This option removes all the original formatting from the text.
Press the shortcut key combination Ctrl + V on a PC or Command + V on an Apple Mac. You can paste text in the clipboard as much as you want until something else is stored in it. Also, once something is placed into the clipboard, it can be copied into other documents and programs.
Once you complete the steps, when copying fragments from the web, between documents, or another app, you can use the Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut or the Paste button from the Home tab to paste only the text without the source formatting.
Sometimes you just want to paste as plain text. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox all support Ctrl + Shift + V as a keyboard shortcut for paste as plain text. This means that Ctrl + Shift + V also works in browser-based apps, like Teams.
