Im going to show you how to use alignment tabs to format headers and footers instead of using tabs and tables Im going to do all my demonstration in the header but the same procedure applies to the footer so you want to open your header or footer and you need to decide what information you want and where you want to in my case I want my name to the left hand side I want the title of my document in the center and I want todays date on the right-hand side my cursor is already aligned to the left so I simply need to just type in my name Im not going to add any character turns or any spaces after it Im just gonna leave it leave everything simple but now I need to have an alignment tab in the center for my title so my header is open Im going to go to the header and footer tools tab Im going to open the design ribbon and then Im going to go over and press insert alignment tab I want my tab align to the center and its going to be relative to the margin and this is the windows default
