Being part of the AACSB Business Education Alliance means that businesses can acquire and share insights that strengthen their relationships with business schools while helping to improve the quality of business education worldwide.
Initial Accreditation with Warning: If a Sponsoring Institution or program does not demonstrate substantial compliance at the subsequent review, the Review Committee may withdraw accreditation or confer a status of Initial Accreditation with Warning for a period of one year.
Initial Accreditation is conferred when a Review Committee determines that a proposal for a new program or sponsoring institution substantially complies with the requirements.
For business degree programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctorate level, AACSB accreditation is the largest and most recognized specialized accreditation worldwide. The requirements for AACSB accreditation are very stringent.
Step one: undertaking a self-assessment. Step two: making an initial application. Step three: desk-based document review by the accreditation body. Step four: on-site, pre-assessment meeting.
Types of accreditation. There are three main types of accreditation: national, regional, and specialized accreditation that apply to certain academic programs.
An accredited programme receives an accreditation level (Level I, II, III or IV). The higher the accreditation level, the more benefits there are. For example, from accreditation level 1 (Level I) onwards, educational institutions no longer need to apply for an SO number from the CHED for that study programme.
Membership, however, does not denote AACSB Accreditation and should not be interpreted as achieving accreditation. Accreditation is granted only to those institutions which have undergone a lengthy peer review process and been found to satisfy the Guiding Principles and Standards for accreditation.
Candidate for Accreditation status indicates the program is making satisfactory progress toward compliance with accreditation criteria, but it does not assure that the program will be granted accreditation. Graduates of these programs are eligible for licensure.
Accreditation is a review process to determine if educational programs meet defined standards of quality. Once achieved, accreditation is not permanentit is renewed periodically to ensure that the quality of the educational program is maintained.
