Pretty basic information. Just last name, first name, two columns of dates and two columns of numbers here. Now if I want to sort by a column its pretty simple to do. All I need to do is click anywhere in the table so the table is the one selected. Then if I move my cursor over the top here you could see for each column I have this little arrow here and if I click on it I get some quick actions. One of those quick actions is to Sort. As a matter of fact theres two of them. Sort Ascending and Sort Descending. So one thing I might want to do is sort by last name ascending and I can select that and it resorts the whole table now with la

What is descending order? When a series of data is arranged from high to low or largest to smallest, it means it is arranged is descending order, also known as decreasing order.
In the Organize sidebar, click the Sort tab. Click the pop-up menu in the sidebar and choose Sort Entire Table or Sort Selected Rows. Click Add a Column. Choose a column to sort by, then click the pop-up menu in the rule and choose Ascending or Descending.
Ascending order means going up from small value to high value and text from A to Z. Descending order means arranging the numbers from largest to smallest and text from Z to A.
Descending order is the opposite of ascending order, from lowercase z to uppercase A for character types, and from highest to lowest for numeric data types. DATE and DATETIME data is sorted from latest to earliest, and INTERVAL data is ordered from longest to shortest span of time.
Create a sorting rule Select a table to sort, or select just specific rows in a column to sort. Tap. , tap the Sort tab, then tap Entire Table or Selected Rows. Tap Add a Column, then tap a column to sort by. To add more rules, tap Add a Column. To reorder the rules, tap Edit above the list of rules, then drag. Tap Done.
from the largest value to the smallest value is known as descending order. We can arrange these numbers in decreasing order of their value. Descending can also be thought of as climbing down the stairs of numbers starting from the highest value.
Descending Order Meaning If the information is sorted from highest to lowest, it is said to be in descending order. For example 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 are arranged in descending order. In other words, if the numbers are arranged from the largest to the smallest number, it is said to be in descending order.
In Excel, there are two ways to sort numbers. In first, select the data and then click on the Sort option from the Data menu tab. Choose the column whose value we want to sort, then choose Sort on Value from the drop-down. Now we can Sort the number by Largest to Smallest and vice-versa.
