Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV. Im going to show you how to create a custom, intertwined, monogram logo centered on a simple, but powerful background. If the middle initial of the monogram is larger than the other two, the middle initial is the surname or last name. The first initial is the first name and the last initial is the middle name. However, if all the initials are the same size, the order of the initials represents the first, middle and last name. I provided a link to a website that explains the general rules pertaining to monograms. The link is located in the video description. Create a new document by pressing Ctrl + N on Windows or Cmd + N on a Mac. Make the Width: 1200 pixels, the Height: 900 pixels and the Resolution: 300 pixels per inch. Make the Color Mode: RGB at 8 bits per channel. Then click OK. Lets begin by making the background first. Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Linear gradient icon is highlighted. Click the Gradient bar and cli

If you are following the traditional initial order, the last name initial will be the largest and in the center, with the first and middle name on the left and right. If you keep both your maiden name and your last name, then your middle name can be substituted with your maiden name in the initials.
Monogram for two middle of first names You stack the initials together on whatever side the two initials go on. If its two for the first name then it goes on the left. If its two on the middle name they go on the right, or two last names they go big in the middle not stacked (just side by side!)
In most cases, the womans first name initial comes first, followed by the shared last name initial, and finally the mans first initial. Elizabeth Brown Smith and Charles William Smith would use ESC as their joint monogram, with the center initial being slightly larger than the other two.
For an individual, the order of initials is the first name, last name, and middle name. The last name initial (center) is larger than those on either side.
Three Initials. If using three initials, the monogram traditionally uses all three names (i.e., first, middle and last names). If all the letters in the monogram are the same height, then the ordering is first name initial, middle name initial, last name initial.
When a traditional monogram is used where the middle initial is slightly larger than the others, a woman will place the first initial of her married name in the center. So the monogram order would be first initial, married surname initial, maiden name initial.
Three Initials. If using three initials, the monogram traditionally uses all three names (i.e., first, middle and last names). If all the letters in the monogram are the same height, then the ordering is first name initial, middle name initial, last name initial.
Traditionally, a monogram reads First Name Initial, Last Name Initial, Middle Name or Maiden Name Initial. With the Last Name Initial being the larger Middle Initial. For example, if you had the name Kelsie Elizabeth Vogds, her monogram would read KVE.
