If Gmail app notification is not working on your android then tap on settings. Select Notifications. Scroll down and look for Gmail. Make sure that the toggle button is activated. Now the next thing what you do is, open Gmail app. Tap on the menu icon. Select Settings. Select the gmail account which you are using. Make sure that the notification box is checked. Select Inbox notifications. Select the check box next to notify for every messages. Now the last thing what we will do is, open Settings. Select Apps. Scroll down and select gmail. Select Battery. Select Optimize battery usage. Select All apps from the drop down menu. Scroll down and select Gmail. This will switch off the toggle button. Now the last thing which we will do is, go to Settings again. Select Apps. Scroll down and look for Gmail. Select it. Select Storage. Select Clear cache and then select Clear Data. Select Delete. Now the gmail notification should work.
