Edit XFA forms Caution: If you edit an XFA form in Acrobat using a workaround, the resultant PDF or form will be flattened and lose all form fields, layers, interactive objects, buttons, and any JavaScripts used in the form.
XFA (also known as XFA forms) stands for XML Forms Architecture, a family of proprietary XML specifications that was suggested and developed by JetForm to enhance the processing of web forms. It can be also used in PDF files starting with the PDF 1.5 specification.
XFA forms are saved internally in PDF files or as XDP (XML Data Package) files which can be opened in docHubs LiveCycle Designer software.

For Portable Document Format (PDF) content type in the search result, select Use docHub (in Firefox) from the Action drop-down list. Click OK. Restart Firefox.
If you can only preview a PDF, it may be that you cant edit the file because the permission level is set to read-only or view-only. One way around this may be to export your PDF from docHub to another application like Microsoft Word, then resaving the file as a PDF in the Save As function.
There is no way to edit XFA forms directly in Acrobat Pro. You need to separately purchase a license for LiveCycle Designer.
To convert XFA PDF to normal PDF, click the Print button, on the Print window that opens, tick Print as Image, and click Print. The XFA form will be converted to a PDF file that you can open with any PDF reader.
