Change your default browser in Windows Select Start Settings Apps Default apps. Open Default apps. Select Microsoft Edge. Next to Make Microsoft Edge your default browser, select Set default.
Changing the Default PDF Viewer in Microsoft Edge Open Settings. Select Apps. In the menu on the left side, click on Default Apps. Scroll down and find the link for Choose default apps by file type.
From Windows settings, search Choose defaults by file type and from that page search . pdf. Then select Choose a default or change the app to Microsoft Edge if one is already set.
Because Microsoft Edge is set as your default PDF reader if you have a Windows 11 or Windows 10 device, opening a PDF is as easy as double-clicking on the file or dragging and dropping the file into the Microsoft Edge window.
A browser like Edge can only open HTML files and PDF files. Others need to be opened by File Explorer or the app which uses them. One way to try this is to right click the File, then in Properties choose Open with to see if Edge is there and try opening it.
You can easily change your default PDF viewer from Windows 10 to Microsoft Edge by following these instructions: Go to Settings. Select Apps. Choose Default apps. Select the Choose default app by file type option. Select the current default app for the PDF file format and choose the app you want to make the new default.
Heres how: Tap the Start button and click on the gear icon. Select Apps in the Settings menu to get to Apps features. On the left side, click on Default apps. Scroll down and hit Choose default apps by file type. Search for . pdf and change Current default to something other than Microsoft Edge.
