- Okay, welcome Yang-Yang Zhou. And thank you everyone for joining online and in-person. Im so excited to be introducing Yang-Yang. Shes an assistant professor of Political Science at the University of British Columbia, currently at Harvard. And shes here to present her book project, Rejecting Coethnicity: The Politics of Migrant Exclusion by Minoritized Citizens. So this is part of Yang-Yangs broader research agenda on the causes and consequences of migration and forced displacement with a focus on social cohesion outcomes and looking at how shared ethnicity can mediate some of the backlash effects that we find from migration. She also has another strand of her work that looks specifically at developing statistical tools for asking sensitive questions in sensitive context and respecting respondent privacy. So Im really excited to see some of the fruits of this labor on both strands of research potentially. And, yeah, join me in welcoming Yang-Yang. (audience applauding) - Than
