Cleaning up the Table of Contents (TOC) in Microsoft Word Highlight the text. Go to References Click on the Add Text pull-down menu. Check Do Not Show in Table of Contents.
Open the document in Microsoft Word or another word processor. Move the mouse cursor to the beginning of the line of text you want to delete. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse to the right until the entire line of text is highlighted. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the line of text.
Select the border of the text box and then press DELETE. Make sure that the pointer is not inside the text box, but rather on the border of the text box. If the pointer is not on the border, pressing DELETE will delete the text inside the text box instead.
To remove a hyperlink but keep the text, right-click the hyperlink and click Remove Hyperlink. To remove the hyperlink completely, select it and then press Delete.
In your Google doc, select Tools from the toolbar. Next, select Spelling and grammar and then Personal dictionary. Next to the word you want to delete, you should see a trashcan icon. Select it to delete the word and then select Okay.
Find and replace text Go to Home Replace. Enter the word or phrase you want to replace in Find what. Enter your new text in Replace with. Choose Replace All to change all occurrences of the word or phrase. To specify only upper or lowercase in your search, select More Match case.
Pressing the fn (function) key plus the Delete key deletes text to the right of the insertion marker. Alternatively, to delete text in Word that has already been typed, select the text to delete. Then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
To delete text: To delete text to the left of the insertion point, press the Backspace key on your keyboard. To delete text to the right of the insertion point, press the Delete key on your keyboard. Select the text you want to remove, then press the Delete key.
