How to Write a Multi-line Comment in HTML. To create a comment in HTML over multiple lines, you can use the same method just enclose your target text inside tags.
Once installed, remove comments in your code by opening the command palette ( Ctrl + Shift + P ), entering Remove all comments and pressing enter. Voil, all the comments are gone 🎉 !
For example, you can remove HTML comments by replace the matches of the regular expression /\/gi to nothing. If one has two comments on a line with content in between, that will remove any non commented content in between, and it will not work for multi line comments.
To create a multiline or block HTML comment, you still use the comment ( ) tags, but you can have more than one line in your comment. As long as you contain the comment text between the tags, it will be included in the comment.
So far we have seen single line comments, but HTML supports multi-line comments as well. You can comment multiple lines by the special beginning tag placed before the first line and end of the last line as shown in the given example below.
Remove all HTML comments There are techniques to remove all comments from the page. One way is to buffer all the pages source code and use a regular expression to remove anything between before outputting the buffers contents.
