you [Music] one of the pieces that I make is the Mobius and Mobius deconstructed you take a sheet of clay you twist it at one end you join one end on to the other and it goes from being a flat two edged to surfaced piece to having only a single edge and one single continuous surface I use a chef Han Araku clay but it is fired and its quite tolerant to firing to stoneware so I on the unglazed pieces fire to about two our fun just over 1200 degree centigrade so it is fully vitrified stone where I start off by waking the clay certainly cutting it and reorient ating the two halves relative to one another sealing over that surface around those cut edges recutting rejoining and so Im constantly reorient ating all the particles of the clay once Ive done that I put the clay through the slave roll create a long slab the proportions of the width of the length or something that I just practice with there is a sort of harmony between the width and the length which creates a nice depth to the fo
