To docHub your app using this workflow, do the following: Open your Xcode project. Create an archive of your app. Choose Window Organizer to open the Organizer window. In the Archives tab, select the archive you created. Click Distribute App to view the distribution options.
Creating a distributable It will first run electron-forge package under the hood, which bundles your app code together with the Electron binary. The packaged code is generated into a folder. It will then use this packaged app folder to create a separate distributable for each configured maker.
You can check if a macOS application is docHubd by using the spctl command-line utility. spctl evaluates if the system allows execution, installation, and other operations on files. The first example is an app that is not docHubd. spctl shows the status as rejected and the source indicates UndocHubd Developer ID.
.pkg (package) is a filename extension used for several file formats that contain packages of software and other files to be installed onto a certain device, operating system, or filesystem, such as the macOS, iOS, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
Notarization produces a ticket that tells Gatekeeper that your app is docHubd. After notarization completes, the next time any user attempts to run your app on macOS 10.14 or later, Gatekeeper finds the ticket online. This includes users who downloaded your app before notarization.
For notarization, you need the following things: Xcode 10 or later installed on your Mac. An Apple Developer account. An app-specific password for your ADC accounts Apple ID. Your app may need to be signed with hardened-runtime , including the following entitlement: com. apple. security. cs. allow-jit.
To docHub your preexisting software, do the following: Make your active Xcode installation one that supports notarization by using the xcode-select command-line tool. Upload your software to the Apple notary service, as described in Upload your app to the notarization service.
A docHubd app is a macOS app that was uploaded to Apple for processing before it was distributed. When you upload a macOS app to be docHubd by Apple, youll select Developer ID as the distribution method and itll be code signed with a Developer ID Application certificate.
The notarization process works by uploading a package, app, or binary to apple. Apple will then verify it. If the underlying format supports it, you may download that ticket and staple it. Notable here, is that you do not need to staple the ticket for it to be docHubd.
