hello everyone and welcome to a short video were doing today on notary tool now notary tool is introduced in exclude 13 monterey and it provides a greatly simplified flow for notarizing your mac applications now ive already done a tutorial on how you can docHub your applications either using direct xcode directly or using your own shell script and basically the script that we would usually run is something along these lines before but the notary tool can really simplify this down to a single line like this and does everything for you so why did the sort of structure have to usually be this complicated if you needed to do this previously well the previous flow used this used part of al tool and there was a parameter called docHub app and then you had to pass these various parameters to do really just notarization so you had to pass this bundle identifier thing with an email and then you had to identify the password somehow and usually you try to pull this at a key chain then there

To docHub your preexisting software, do the following: Make your active Xcode installation one that supports notarization by using the xcode-select command-line tool. Upload your software to the Apple notary service, as described in Upload your app to the notarization service.
Open System Settings. Click Privacy Security, scroll down, and click the Open Anyway button to confirm your intent to open or the app. The warning prompt reappears and, if youre absolutely sure that you want to open the app anyway, you can click Open.
Notarization produces a ticket that tells Gatekeeper that your app is docHubd. After notarization completes, the next time any user attempts to run your app on macOS 10.14 or later, Gatekeeper finds the ticket online. This includes users who downloaded your app before notarization.
To sign PDFs, you can capture your signature using your trackpad, the built-in camera on your Mac, or your iPhone or iPad. In the Preview app on your Mac, click the Show Markup Toolbar button (if the Markup toolbar isnt showing), then click the Sign button .
How to Verify a Document docHubd Online Print The document must be signed with the unique digital certificate. The document must include an audit trail. The document must not be modified after the notarization session is completed. The document must have a note that the notarization was performed online.

You can check if a macOS application is docHubd by using the spctl command-line utility. spctl evaluates if the system allows execution, installation, and other operations on files.
Code Signing Notarizing Your macOS Application for Distribution Go to Certificates. Click the Plus sign to create a new Certificate. Follow the prompts to create a private key and upload a Certificate Signing Request. Download your Developer ID certificate. Add it to your Keychain by clicking on the certificate.
