The CSV filetype is a plain text file that holds lists of data and is useful for moving information between different software. Sometimes when opening a CSV file in Microsoft Excel the data appears jumbled such as in this example. This data is from an Atlas Copco MTF6000 controller and contains torque verification data. By examining the text I can see that the data is separated using semicolons, not commas. This would explain why Excel isnt properly displaying the data. To fix this issue we must open the Text Import Wizard. In older versions of Excel this is done by opening the CSV file using the File Import action, but in this newer version we must manually open the file by selecting File, then opening it from the disk or recent files list. Now that the Text Import Wizard is open we must tell Excel to use the Delimited data type which separates the text into fields using certain characters. Select Delimited and click next. We determined that this Atlas Copco log file uses semicolon t

A streamed file could not be decoded because the header of the file was corrupted or it is an unsupported file type. The sound that triggered this error is reported with the error. Probable causes: File corruption.
To read CSV file without header, use the header parameter and set it to None in the readcsv() method.
Your CSV should have a header row that includes the titles of each column - just make sure theres no special characters like dashes or parentheses. For example, for a column with emails in it, the first row should say Emails and the following rows will have emails listed.
In CSV files, a NULL value is typically represented by two successive delimiters (e.g. ,, ) to indicate that the field contains no data; however, you can use string values to denote NULL (e.g. null ) or any unique string.
Validating CSV headers against an expected list 1st column - Should say Marker 2nd column - Should say Category 3rd column to N columns - These are the actual data columns. Should have number starting with 1 and increasing by 1 going right.
By default, pandas consider CSV files with headers (it uses the first line of a CSV file as a header record), in case you wanted to read a CSV file without headers use header=None param. When header=None used, it considers the first record as a data record.
Verify that the CSV file is formatted the same way as our sample CSV file. Make sure the Username column has a header defined. Make sure the username field is not blank for any users. Make sure the delimiter used in your file is a comma. Note that Excel uses your operating systems default delimiter.
This error is usually caused by formatting or white space changes in the header of the CSV file youre attempting to upload. You can fix this very quickly by copying the entire header row from our Sample CSV file.
