You can use the CSS text-indent property to indent text in any block container, including divs, headings, asides, articles, blockquotes, and list elements. Say you want to indent all div elements containing text on a page to the right by 50px. Then, using the CSS type selector div, set the text-indent property to 50px.
You shall use the following two properties: margin-left - To indent an entire block of text. text-indent - To indent only the first line of text.
You can indent elements by moving them two spaces to the right. This will make your code more readable by other developers and shows the relationship between the child and parent HTML elements.

To indent the first line of a paragraph, put your cursor at the beginning of the paragraph and press the tab key. When you press Enter to start the next paragraph, its first line will be indented.
From the Elements list, select the element or elements you want to format. Under Alignment, select one of the three options. Under Indentation, select one of the four options. Under Spacing, set the additional line space you want before or after each paragraph.
The HTML element produces a line break in text (carriage-return). It is useful for writing a poem or an address, where the division of lines is docHub.
Use margin-left if you want the entire paragraph to be shifted to the right. If you want the entire paragraph to be shifted over, not just the first line, then you can use the margin-left property.
