Click Margins, click Custom Margins, and then in the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right boxes, enter new values for the margins. To change the default margins, click Margins after you select a new margin, and then click Custom Margins. To restore the original margin settings, click Margins and then click Custom Margins.
In CSS, a margin is the space around an elements border, while padding is the space between an elements border and the elements content. Put another way, the margin property controls the space outside an element, and the padding property controls the space inside an element.
Positive margin values move the content towards the inner side of its position or page. But if we take negative margin values, it moves the content towards outside of its position or page. The margin property in html gives space around the outermost elements content of the box-like structure.
Negative Margins in CSS If we use negative values with margin-top or margin-left properties, it draws our target element closer to its top or left neighbor respectively. If we use negative values with margin-bottom or margin-right properties, it pulls the neighboring elements closer to our target element.
Differentiating between margin and padding css properties can sometimes be confusing, the short description of these two properties is that padding can be considered as an internal element which helps to create space around the element (outside the border), in the opposite margin is used to control the space outside
Adjusting the Margin Size of an HTML Element With CSS You can remove this margin by setting the top and left margin to zero. Like the padding and border, the sizes of specific sides of the margin can be set using margin-left , margin-right , margin-top , and margin-bottom .
In CSS, a margin is the space around an elements border, while padding is the space between an elements border and the elements content. Put another way, the margin property controls the space outside an element, and the padding property controls the space inside an element.
In web development and design, the margin of an element represents the outside space of the element itself, while the padding represents the inner space surrounding the element. Its important to understand how different components, such as padding and margins, come together to separate text and graphics.
