okay so um you may be having issues with trying to open up a csv file that actually displays um a font which is not coming displaying correctly so here i have some russian acrylic fonts that are not being displayed as they should so what ive done is thats a csv file so what ill do is ill open up excel open a blank document and then ill go to data and ill go from text and then ill find um the file open and here uh its its coming through this is unicode utf-8 ill press next ill just need to because its a csv comma i think theres a csv um added variable or something but in here so im just going to click comma as a delimiter and press next and then finish and then okay and here we go so this is all in russian all right so thats how you open a csv and in excel this is windows 2016 version of excel so thats thats how you can do it hopefully that puts you on the right track okay cheers bye

You are opening a csv file in Microsoft Excel and are seeing incorrect, or garbled characters, such a , , , etc. This could be because the CSV file is UTF-8-encoded.For newer Versions of Excel: Click From Text/CSV option. Select the CSV you file want to import. In the next box select: Click Load button.
Special characters (, , , etc) in downloaded CSV files On a Windows computer, open the CSV file using Notepad. Click File Save As. In the dialog window that appears - select ANSI from the Encoding field. Then click Save. Open this new CSV file using Excel.
CSV files, do the following: Open a . CSV document in Microsoft Excel. Click File. Select Save As Select File Type as CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (. csv). Click Save. If prompted, choose Keep Current Format.
CSV (comma delimited) will not open correctly and the data within will be displayed incorrectly. This is due to regional Excel settings that have default list separator options where files will either be read with a comma separator or semicolon separator.
Click on Save As from the File or Windows Button menu in Excel then choose the Other Formats option and choose Unicode Text as the file type. Type a file name into the File Name box and click on Save. This will create a text file containing the data but with the CSV formatting stripped out.
CSV is plain text, separated by commas. I repeat: plain text. This should give you a clue to what comes next Data saved in CSV will not retain data formatting.
The . CSV files that Employee Email outputs when you export data are in UTF-8 format. However, by default Microsoft Excel uses ANSI encoding which causes many special characters such as Chinese Characters/logograms to display incorrectly. Change your settings within Excel to resolve this issue.
For Windows users: Create a blank workbook in Excel. Select a column Go to Data tab and select From the text: Choose the option for Delimited and file origin: UTF-16LE. Go to the next page and choose Semicolon as the delimiter. Go to the next page and keep the column data format general. Done!
