Turning a positive value into a negative value in Microsoft Excel is really as simple as adding a negative sign in front of the value within a cell. It doesnt involve a formula or anything complicated.
Change positive numbers to negative or vice versa with Kutools for Excel Select the range you want to change. Click Kutools Content Change Sign of Values, see screenshot: And in the Change Sign of Values dialog box, select Change all positive values to negative option. Then click OK or Apply.
Use the ABS function to Change all Negative Numbers to Positive. Excel has a dedicated function that strips out the negative sign and gives you the absolute value.
Multiply with Minus One to Convert a Positive Number So you can use the same method in excel to convert a negative number into a positive. All you have to do is just multiply a negative value with -1 and it will return the positive number instead of the negative. Below you have a range of cells with negative numbers.
Click Number tab, click Custom Option, on right-hand side, under Type text box select General , and in the Type text box, enter a minus sign like this: -General and click OK.
There is no excel formula that checks if a cell is NOT blank. The closest function will be COUNTA(). It counts the number of cells that are not blank within the range.
