Yes, using a PAC code to transfer your mobile number to another network will cancel your contract and close your account.
If you want to move to a SIM only deal on another network, you can still keep your mobile number. The same process applies whatever kind of plan you choose, from SIM only to pay monthly.
If not, or once youve provided that information, youll get a text with your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) in it. Youll then need to give this code to the network youre moving to, and that will both trigger your old contract to be cancelled, and ensure your old number moves to your new network.
You cannot transfer disconnected numbers, so do not cancel your existing contract if you wish to port your mobile number.
Steps to transfer your current number to your new network 1) Call or text your provider to get a PAC Code. 2) Get in touch with your new network and give them your PAC. 3) Check the number transfer has been successful.
Yes, you can. If you move from one network to another then you need to ask your old network for a PAC code, and give it to your new network within 30 days. Your new network will port your mobile number over to your new SIM.
Commission rules require carriers to port a number when they receive a valid request, and carriers may not refuse to port.
