Moving lines also requires two commands: dd (delete) and either p or P . To move one line, position the cursor anywhere on the line and type dd . For example, to delete 5 lines, type 5dd . Next, move the cursor to the line above where you want the deleted line reinserted and type p .
Click the arrow buttons at the top, bottom, and sides of the scroll bar to scroll one line at a time. Click and drag a scroll bar to move quickly though a document, releasing it when youve docHubed the page you want.
If you put the cursor on a line of code and use the Alt+Up Arrow keys, the line of code youve selected moves up. If you use the Alt+Down Arrow keys, the line of code selected moves down.
Press ⌥⇧ (macOS), or Alt+Shift+Up Arrow (Windows/Linux), to move a line up.
command + option + [ or ] to move a line of code up and down.
Alternatively, you can move a line down with ⌥⇧ (macOS), or Alt+Shift+Down Arrow (Windows/Linux).
Here are some steps to help you use the button: Select the paragraph where you want the line to appear. Click on the Borders button on the Home tab. Select the arrow on the Borders button to access the drop-down menu and change the line to another position or orientation.
Moving lines means to remove them from their original place and put them in another. For instance, if you have a table that appears in one part of a file, and you want to remove the table from that part of the file and put it in another part, you would move (not copy) it.
