To position the header or footer, follow these steps: Position the insertion point in the document section whose headers or footers you want to position. Make sure the Page Layout or Layout tab of the ribbon is displayed. Click the small icon at the bottom-right of the Page Setup group.
Double-click inside the header or footer area. Select the text you want to change and type your new header or footer in its place. Select Close Header and Footer or double-click anywhere outside of the header or footer area to exit.
To change the position of your headers and footers, first click on the Page Layout tab. Then, click on the Header Footer button. This will bring up the Header Footer toolbar. From here, you can choose whether you want your header or footer to be positioned at the top or bottom of the page.
