Click the desktop, choose View Sort By, then choose an option. If you want to control the placement of your files on the desktop, keep Sort By set to none. You can still arrange files neatly when desiredjust click the desktop, choose View Clean Up By, then choose how youd like to arrange the files.
Mac Right-click an empty part of the desktop and select Show View Options. If your mouse has only one button, hold down the Control key while clicking the desktop. Activate the drop-down menu next to Arrange By, and then select Snap to Grid from the list.
Choose Finder Settings, click Advanced, then, below Keep folders on top, select the In windows when sorting by name tick box. Arrange icons neatly: In Icon view, choose View Clean Up. You can also clean up icon view by sorting icons in a specific order.
Click on the View menu in Finder and select Clean up to make all icons align properly. 2. If you want your desktop icons to be auto-arranged, you can do so by clicking on the View menu and then hold on the ALT key on the keyboard until you see the Keep Arranged By option show up on the View menu.
Position and align objects in Pages on Mac Click an object to select it or select multiple objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. Enter X and Y values in the Position fields. The value for X is measured from the pages left edge to the objects upper-left corner.
On your Mac, select an item you want to drag such as an image or block of text. Press and hold the trackpad or mouse while you drag the item to a new location. To copy the item instead of moving it, press and hold the Option key while you drag. Release the trackpad or mouse to drop the item in the new location.
Add a shape Click. in the toolbar. Select a category on the left, then click a shape or drag one to the document to add it. To browse all shapes, move the pointer over the shapes pane, then scroll down. Drag the shape to reposition it on the page.
You can still arrange files neatly when desiredjust click the desktop, choose View Clean Up By, then choose how youd like to arrange the files.
