Let s look at how users can create, OCR and edit scanned documents using Foxit PDF Editor. The first step is to create a PDF document from a hardcopy document by using a scanner. The easiest way to accomplish this is to use the Scan button under the Home tab. We can choose the scanner, whether or not you want to create a new document, or append the scan to an existing document, or whether you want to OCR the file. Since the scanned image file is too large, we ll compress it by checking the Reduce size and Optimize , with this we would reduce the file size without affecting the document resolution. Next, we will leave the OCR option unchecked for now and go back to this topic later. We then click on the Scan button, and the scanner will scan the document and it will be converted into a PDF.
