The video tutorial will show you how to style the select element, which is typically difficult to customize. The index.html file includes linked style sheets and a container for the select element and its options. Default styling is shown, next the main CSS file is used to customize the select container and box with properties such as display, width, height, border, and appearance. Display: flex and justify-content are set for the container, while the box needs border: none and appearance: none to override default system style.

The select tag in HTML is used to create a dropdown list of options that can be selected. The option tag contains the value that would be used when selected. The default value of the select element can be set by using the selected attribute on the required option. This is a boolean attribute.
The element is used to create a drop-down list. The element is most often used in a form, to collect user input. The name attribute is needed to reference the form data after the form is submitted (if you omit the name attribute, no data from the drop-down list will be submitted).
Holding down the Ctrl key then using the Up and Down cursor keys to change the focused select option, i.e. the one that will be selected if you choose to do so.
How to copy drop down list in Excel Select the cell with the drop-down list and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Select the cells where you want to add the dropdown. Right-click the selection, click Paste Special, and then select the Validation option. Click OK.
The value of the selected element can be found by using the value property on the selected element that defines the list. This property returns a string representing the value attribute of the element in the list. If no option is selected then nothing will be returned.
Heres an example: // HTML. Option 1. Option 2. Option 3. // JavaScript. const dropdown = document. getElementById(myDropdown const selectedOption = dropdown. options[dropdown. selectedIndex. const selectedValue = selectedOption. value;
To fetch the selected value from the select element, you can use the onChange event handler prop. Just like the input or textarea elements, you can use the onChange event handler to get the value from the event object. Now, make this select input element controlled by using the state to pass the value.
If you want to get the text for the selected option from HTML select box dropdown or if you want to get the value for the selected option, we can use the find() function to look for the selected option and then either get the text value using the text() function or et its value using the val() function.
