1. Get a reference to the dropdown element using its ID or any other attribute. 2. Use the `value` property to set the new value for the selected option.
Select remove() Method The remove() method is used to remove an option from a drop-down list. Tip: To add an option to a drop-down list, use the add() method.
The select tag in HTML is used to create a dropdown list of options that can be selected. The option tag contains the value that would be used when selected. The default value of the select element can be set by using the selected attribute on the required option. This is a boolean attribute.
Heres an example of how to change the value of a selected option in a dropdown list using JavaScript: Copy code// Get the select element. var select = document.getElementById(mySelect); // Get the selected option. var selectedOption = select.options[select.selectedIndex]; // Change the value of the selected option.
Holding down the Ctrl key then using the Up and Down cursor keys to change the focused select option, i.e. the one that will be selected if you choose to do so.
On the worksheet where you applied the drop-down list, select a cell that has the drop-down list. Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed. Each item should be separated by a comma, with no spaces in between like this: Yes,No,Maybe.
However, the principle is similar: You have to select a list to get the records in List. The Options text is where you choose the field that is going to be the label that will appear in your dropdown record. The Options value is the identifier of each record.
The value of the selected element can be found by using the value property on the selected element that defines the list. This property returns a string representing the value attribute of the element in the list. If no option is selected then nothing will be returned.
