Request an Administrative Hearing Online: written hearings: Citation Hearings Request Portal. By Email (to schedule phone or video hearings, or assistance with online request portal): hearingsgeneral@sfmta.com (there is no need to call if you send email) By-Phone (to schedule a phone hearing): 415-646-2016.
If you believe that a parking ticket was issued in error, you must contact the Issuing Agency to request an administrative review hearing to dispute or contest the ticket.
There are three ways to dispute a parking ticket: Request an in-person hearing. Submit evidence and testimony by mail. Upload evidence and testimony online.
Example letter I believe that this ticket was issued unfairly. I am not liable for the amount payable because: There was insufficient signage. There was no sign at the entrance of the car park. I have enclosed the following evidence to demonstrate my claim: A photo of the entrance to the car park.
To dispute a ticket, you must request a hearing within 30 days after the ticket was issued to avoid paying late penalties. You can dispute a ticket online, by mobile app, by mail, or in-person. You must meet all deadlines. Contacting anyone other than the Department of Finance does not change the deadline.
When to appeal a parking ticket You were parked correctly. The parking signs or road markings were unclear. There was no way to pay. You were charged too much. You werent driving when the ticket was issued. You couldnt get back to your car. Your car broke down. You were only just out of time.
Any staff, volunteer, or visitor may appeal in person or fill out a parking citation appeal form within 10 calendar days of the citation. Forms are available from the Parking Services Manager. Contact the Parking Services Office for office hours and location of hearing officer.
If you wish to appeal the decision of the Hearing Office, you must file a claim in person with the Civil Clerk of the State of Connecticut Superior Court along with a $90 filing fee within thirty (30) days of the mailing date of the Denial Letter.
