To adjust page numbering: Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers. Make sure Start at is set to 1. To make page numbers continuous: Format Page Numbers and choose Continue from previous section.
From the Design Tab on the Header and Footer Tools ribbon (the ribbon that is active when you are in Header/Footer view), select Page Number from the Header and Footer Group. Insert your page numbers and adjust your page margin from this menu.
Click the File tab. Click Info to view the document properties. To add or change properties, hover your pointer over the property you want to update and enter the information. Note that for some metadata, such as Author, youll have to right-click on the property and choose Remove or Edit.
Press Ctrl + A. Press F9. If your document has tables with fields or formulas, you might need to select each table separately and press F9. Tip: To make sure that you dont forget to update your table of contents before you print the document, set Word to update fields automatically before printing.
To restart your numbering, click the Page Number command, then choose Format Page Numbers. From there, youll be able to select Start at: 1. To reformat your numbering, select the page number, then go back to the Home tab. You can change the font, color, size, and more.
To choose a format or to control the starting number, go to Header Footer Page Number Format Page Numbers. To change the numbering style, select a different style in Number format. To change the starting page number of the newly created section, select Start at, and then enter a number.
Insert page numbers On the Insert tab, select. If you dont want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
Instead of searching and replacing all the figure numbers in the text, click Edit - Select All (or, Ctrl + A), which select the entire document, then, press F9. This updates all the figure number automatically.
