Edit or append document metadata Choose the hamburger menu Document Properties (Windows), or File Document Properties (macOS). Select Additional Metadata. Select Advanced from the list on the left. To edit the metadata, do any of the following, and then select OK.
Or, you can right-click on the opened PDF file and choose Document Properties in the drop-down window. Remove Metadata: In the Properties window, youll see information like the author, subject, keywords, and more. To remove this metadata, simply delete the text in each field or modify it as needed.
Click File tab on the top toolbar Properties, then you can see 5 options--Description, Initial View, Security, Fonts and Advanced. Select the Description option, and the metadata will show up right there. It allows you to add or edit metadata fields at will. Once done, save the PDF file on your computer.
If the owner of a PDF sets read-only restrictions, you cant apply changes PDF, be it in Preview or another app. There is, however, a way to check whether a PDF is locked and eliminate restrictions. Preview not working properly. The problem might lie in outdated software or a simple glitch.
