Because formula fields are automatically calculated, they are read-only and cannot be edited from UI by users.
If you want to change the formula that calculates the data in the formula field, select the formula field in Field Explorer. Right click, then choose Edit. You will then see the Formula Workshop dialogue box. You can then change the formula.
Formulas are calculated/derived in real-time, and no data is stored for these values. As such, you cant update a formula directly.
Formula fields are special read-only fields that cannot be converted to any other data type. Likewise, you cannot convert any other field type into a formula field.
Answer: Open the report in Crystal Reports. Open the Field Explorer. In the Field Explorer, right-click on Formula Fields. Click New. Enter a name for the formula and click OK. The formula workshop window will appear. Click Check (X+2 button with a green checkmark) to identify any errors in the formula.
Go to Report Edit Selection Formula Record. Make changes to the formula. Click Save and Close.
Click OK Crystal Reports 8.5: Open the Field Explorer (Insert Field Object) Right-click on the parameter in the Parameter Fields section and select Edit. Click Set Default Values. Add new values in the Select or enter value to add box on the left or edit the existing values in the Default Values box on the right.
