On the Data tab, click Data Validation. In the Data Validation window, change the range reference in the Source box. You can either edit the reference manually or select an appropriate range using the mouse. Click OK to save the changes and close the window.
Select the cell(s) you want to create a rule for. Select Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, under Allow, select an option: Under Data, select a condition. Set the other required values based on what you chose for Allow and Data.
How to edit data validation in Excel Select any of the validated cells. Open the Data Validation dialog box (Data tab Data Validation). Make the required changes.
Right-click the form that you want to change, and then click Layout View. Right-click the control that you want to change, and then click Properties to open the property sheet for the control. Click the All tab, and then enter your validation rule in the Validation Rule property box.
Change a data validation condition Click the control whose data validation you want to modify. On the Format menu, click Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialog box, click the condition that you want to change, click Modify, and then make the changes that you want.
Apply data validation to cells Select Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, under Allow, select an option: Under Data, select a condition. Set the other required values based on what you chose for Allow and Data. Select the Input Message tab and customize a message users will see when entering data.
If you change the validation settings for a cell, you can automatically apply your changes to all other cells that have the same settings. To do so, on the Settings tab, select the Apply these changes to all other cells with the same settings check box.
Change a data validation condition On the Format menu, click Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialog box, click the condition that you want to change, click Modify, and then make the changes that you want.
