The Old Firefox Data folder is created when Firefox performs a Refresh or tune-up. Do you recall seeing any dialog/notification about that? Anyway, could you double-click into Old Firefox Data, and then into whatever weirdly named folder you find there, and then into the bookmarkbackups folder.
The Old Firefox Data folder is created when the browser is refreshed. It contains the original profile you were using before the refresh. If anything seems wrong or missing, you might be able to recover what you want from it. Once you are sure you no longer have need of the old profile, you can remove it if you want.
If you are not interested in files from that era, you can delete them. when you use the refresh feature in Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks and history, Form Data, tabs) is automatically imported.
