Select a table. Select Click to Add Calculated Field, and then select a data type. Enter a calculation for the field, and then click OK. Type the expression yourself, or select expression elements, fields, and values to put them into the expression edit field.
You can set valid values to the calculated field, and any pick fields will get automatically populated. If you re-query/refresh the applet after the update, the calculated field will revert to the calculated value specified in Tools. This works similar to other picklist fields.
To modify your query: To modify your query, you must enter Design view, the view you used when creating it. There are two ways to switch to Design view: On the Home tab of the Ribbon, click the View command. Select Design View from the drop-down menu that appears.
Click the PivotTable. On the Analyze tab, in the Calculations group, click Fields, Items, Sets, and then click Calculated Field. In the Name box, select the calculated field for which you want to change the formula. In the Formula box, edit the formula. Click Modify.
Create a calculated field in a query In the Navigation Pane, right-click the query that you want to change, and then click Design View on the shortcut menu. Click the Field cell in the column where you want to create the calculated field. To manually create your expression, type your expression.
Creating a Calculated Field Navigate to the Mode home page and sign in to your Workspace. Click the green + to create a new report in the upper righthand corner. Run a SQL query. (It can be as simple as SELECT * FROM table.) Create a new chart. Click the New field button to open the Calculated field formula editor.
Drag and drop fields into the calculation editor. Drag and drop formulas from the calculation editor to the Data pane. Use the functions reference in the calculation editor. Take advantage of auto-complete for formulas. Drag table calculations into the calculation editor to edit them. Resize text in the calculation editor.
