This band is commonly referred to as the Victor or VHF band. The frequency range is from 118 MHz to 136 MHz. The only authorized use of this band is for aviation. The FAA controls and assigns all frequencies within this sub-band.
The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has three primary frequency bands designated for unlicensed operation. Unlicensed means the operator of the radios does not need to file directly with the FCC to use the radio. The three frequency bands used for this in the U.S. are the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz.
No License is required to operate on FRS channels.
Does a business need a license to play the radio? Very small businesses playing music through just a few small speakers dont need a license to play the radio. But larger organizations, or locations with challenging acoustics that need multiple speakers, cant play the radio without a license.
Even if a two-way VHF/UHF radio operates solely within the amateur frequencies, the operator is required to have an amateur license to operate the device and must otherwise comply with all applicable rules.
This includes public safety, commercial and non-commercial fixed and mobile wireless services, broadcast television and radio, satellite and other services.
No, you do not need a TV Licence to listen to the radio (including on BBC Sounds). If you play music on your business premises for customers or staff through radio, TV, computer or CD/DVD, for example please check if you need music licences from .pplprs.co.uk/your-tv-licence-at-work.
The CB Radio spectrum is broken up into 40 channels with CB frequencies ranging from 26.965 to 27.405 MHz. Channels are generally spaced 10 KHz apart. While these channels are open to everyone, some have commonly agreed upon purposes, which are noted in the table below.
A Radio licence provides you with a unique frequency on which you can operate your radios legally and securely.
An individual license is not required to operate a CB station and the FCC does not renew formerly issued CB Radio Service licenses; The FCC service rules for the Citizens Band Radio Service (CBRS) are located in 47 C.F.R. Part 95.
