detail lines are found under annotate and detail line detail lines are detailed items and are not visible in 3d just like text and other detail items these are model lines and they are visible in 3d you can find them under architecture and model line when you draw them you can see that we can see them in 3d view and they are part of 3d model and visible in all 3d views and when you select them you can see that there are different properties for detail line and for model line you can see the detail and checkbox is checked in detail line and unchecked in model line and we can convert between these two lines with convert lines button and when you press the button you can see that we can convert between model line and detail and back and forth so for example if you draw a shape with detail lines and want to know the total length of these lines you cannot use measure along an element function you have to convert them to model lines you can see them in 3d now and then select them and you ca
