And for this lesson, its gonna be important to remember that even though the plus symbol isnt usually shown between those two parts of a Mixed Number, theyre being ADDED together. 3 and 1/4 means 3 PLUS 1/4 2 and 5/8 means 2 PLUS 5/8. Heres why thats so important to remember Lets say youre given a problem where you need to add the Whole Number 2 to the Mixed Number 3 and 1/4.
