Since Microsoft introduced the new Bring Your Own License rules for Windows Server, there hasnt been a consensus around how to license Windows Server simultaneously in the same cluster through SPLA and Bring Your Own License. So it seems like there is a temporary, I think its temporary consensus until we see anything from Microsoft in writing that we should not mix them in the same cluster. Continue using SPLA as you have been using it. And for the Bring Your Own License for Windows Server, deploy new clusters. Judging by who is sending this message, I would safely assume that Microsoft is behind it. So I would certainly listen to that. And as long as theres no written guidance, follow this advice. Theres no problem with bringing your own licenses for any other products and deploying them on SPLA hardware. Its only Windows Server that is a problem.
