Insert a static date or time into an Excel cell On a worksheet, select the cell into which you want to insert the current date or time. Do one of the following: To insert the date, type the date (like 2/2), and then click Home Number Format dropdown (in the Number tab) Short Date or Long Date.
Quick conversion of text dates using Paste Special Copy any empty cell (select it and press Ctrl + C). Select the range with text values you want to convert to dates. Right-click the selection, click Paste Special, and select Add in the Paste Special dialog box: Click OK to complete the conversion and close the dialog.
Combine Two Dates using Text Function First, use the text function, and in the text, the function refers to cell A1 and uses the format dd-mmm-yyyy to get the first date as a text. After that, use an ampersand to add text between two dates.
To combine text with a date or time, use the TEXT function and the (ampersand) operator.
Add Date Formatting Select the cell where you want the combined data. Type the formula, with text inside double quotes, and the date inside the TEXT function. For example, to show the full weekday name, for the current date: =Today is TEXT(TODAY(),dddd) Press Enter to complete the formula.
They enclose the text that comes before and after the cell. Heres another example of a common task, adding the date to worksheet. It uses the TEXT and TODAY functions to create a phrase such as Today is Friday, January 20. =Today is TEXT(TODAY(),dddd, mmmm dd.)
To combine text with a date or time, use the TEXT function and the (ampersand) operator.
To concatenate date in Excel with other values, we can use an operator or also known as concatenate operator, or the inbuilt concatenate function in Excel. For example, using = ABCNOW() will give us the output as ABC14/09/2019.
