hello and welcome to open CV basics Im George and today were going to look at splitting and merging images what I mean by splitting is taking an image that has multiple channels like red green and blue for a color image and splitting them up into individual nature of matte objects matrix objects and then what were going to do is modify one of them and then fuse them all back together into a single matte object but the difference now is that it took each one of those individual matte elements or those matrices and combines them into a single one but just with multiple channels this isnt just good for RGB images if you need to do Fourier transforms this is actually a very similar technique that youll use in order to add the ability to use imaginary components but well get to that in a different video right now the most important thing for us to do is of course get started by bringing in an image the image were going to work with is the same that I seem to always be working with a
