Using your mouse cursor, highlight the text you want to redact. A temporary red redaction box appears to let you confirm the text you wish to obscure. Click Apply Redaction, then be sure to save a copy of the document. The text is now permanently obscured.
If you want to blur any specific word or phrase everywhere in your PDF, click on the Search Redact tab to do so. Afterward, write the text you want to hide from the whole document, and a list will appear containing all lines with this specific word. Now, press the Mark button to complete the operation.
Heres how easy it is to apply a mask in Preview: Open the image you want to apply the mask to in Preview. Click Tools Annotate Mask from the menu bar. Youll immediately see a shape appear on your image. Drag a corner or edge using the blue dots to resize the mask.
Manage permissions for a PDF In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. Choose File Edit Permissions, then do any of the following: Set a password for opening the PDF: Select Require Password To Open Document. Enter a password, then retype it to verify. Click Apply to save your changes.
To do this, navigate to Tools and select Redact Redact Text Images Find Text Redact. This makes it easy to identify and then black out that content throughout the document. You can also specify general patterns, such as phone, Social Security, or credit card numbers.
Simply open the PDF in the Redact PDF tool, mark text or entire pages you want to black out, and once done click on Redact All. Xodo ensures the redacted content remains permanently removed, making it a reliable tool for sensitive data removal in PDFs.
Open the PDF in Acrobat, and then do one of the following: In the Edit menu, choose Redact a PDF. Choose All tools Redact a PDF. Select the text or image in a PDF, right-click, and select Redact.
To protect your information, learn how to redact in Preview. Open your PDF in Preview. Click the Markup icon on the top right. Click the Redact button on the top left. Read the reminder in the dialog box, save a copy of your PDF, and click OK. Select your text to have it automatically redacted.
