What are Map Labels? Map labels are text postioned on a map in relation to map features, which collectively reflect real-world characteristics and attributes. Text successfully used in maps generates maps that are clear, instructive, and appealing.
Give a place a private label Open the Google Maps app . Search for an address. Or drop a pin by tapping and holding a place on the map. At the bottom, tap the name of the place. Tap Label.
Because letter forms are more complex, a general rule of thumb is that any type on a printed map should not be smaller than 5 pts. You will often want to use size to show differences in attribute values (for example, larger labels to show larger cities).
This option is listed next to a blue flag icon towards the bottom of the location details. Enter a label into the text field. Click the Add a label field on the top-left corner, type in the label you want to add, and hit Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
Procedure Open the HTML Map Editor with the map you want to modify. In the text editor area, add the following text instruction: text(name=text, label=example ,x=12,y=34,font=font,size=12, style=style, color=color) Click Save.

Text mapping is a visual technique to help students understand how information is organized in content area text, especially textbooks.
