A field mapping allows you to specify transformations to be applied on all documents inserted into a collection. Any valid SQL expression may be used to describe the transformation logic in a field mapping definition.
Procedure Click the target field for which you want to specify the mapping rule. In the dropdown list, select either the available fields in the DI API you are currently connected to or [Conversion Values] or [Leave it Blank]. [Conversion Values]: You can specify a file as the mapping rule.

Field mapping, in essence, is the process of determining what data you want to move into a particular field. In our Custom Integrations, field mapping can be easily done using the drag and drop method.
Mapping to field means updating the value on the field on target table. For ex lets assume you have caller field on record producer as variable and now you want this to be copied to callerid field on incident table, in this case you have to map field on record producer.
On Record Producers, theres a Map to field checkbox visible (hidden for Catalog Items). When the checkbox is ticked, the Field field is displayed with which you can select the field on the table set on the Record Producer.
Map Standard and Custom Fields on a Standard Object Prepare to Import Standard and Custom Fields. Create the Custom Field on the Contact Object. Create Corresponding Fields on the NPSP Data Import Object. Turn on Advanced Mapping. Map the New Fields. Get Ready to Prepare the Data. Resources.
The data mapping process in 5 steps Identify all data fields that must be mapped. Standardize naming conventions across sources. Create data transformation rules and schema logic. Test your logic. Complete the migration, integration, or transformation.
