To create a bulleted list: Select the text you want to format as a list. Selecting text to format. On the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Bullets command. A menu of bullet styles will appear. Move the mouse over the various bullet styles. The text will be formatted as a bulleted list.
How to use bullet points Make sure all items in the list are related to each other. Use the same font and margin width in each bulleted point. Keep bullet points short, preferably no more than three lines long. Begin all items with the same part of speech (active verbs work well) and make sure they are in parallel form.
Turn lines of text into a bulleted list by selecting the text and then clicking Home Paragraph Bullets. Each line or paragraph becomes a bullet in the list. Tip: Press Enter to move text to its own line, or press Enter twice to end the bulleted list.
Choose a new bullet or numbering format Click a bullet or number in the list that you want to change. On the Home tab, under Paragraph, click the arrow next to Bullets or Numbering. Click the bullet or numbering list format that you want in the Bullet Library or the Numbering Library.
Click Home, click the arrow next to either the Bullets or Numbering button, and then click Bullets and Numbering. Tip: To quickly change the style of a bulleted or numbered list, just click the style you want in the list that appears when you click the arrow next to Bullets or Numbering.
Change the numbering in a numbered list Double-click the numbers in the list. The text wont appear selected. Right-click the number you want to change. Click Set Numbering Value. In the Set value to: box, use the arrows to change the value to the number you want.
