Its actually very easy to set up and Im going to show you step by step how to do it so you too can create a drop-down list. All right. Well, enough talk. Lets jump on the PC. Select the cell where you want the Dependent/Conditional Drop Down list (E3 in this example). Go to Data Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialog box, within the setting tab, make sure List in selected. In the Source field, enter the formula =INDIRECT(D3).
Remove a drop-down list Select the cell with the drop-down list. If you have multiple cells with drop-down lists that you want to delete, you can use Ctrl+Left click to select them. Click Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click Clear All. Click OK.
Go to Data Data Tools Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialogue box, within the settings tab, select List as Validation Criteria. In Source field, select the cells which have the items that you want in the drop down. Click OK.
Restrict data entry Select the cells where you want to restrict data entry. On the Data tab, click Data Validation Data Validation. In the Allow box, select the type of data you want to allow, and fill in the limiting criteria and values.
To quickly remove data validation for a cell, select it, and then go to Data Data Tools Data Validation Settings Clear All.
Create a drop-down list Select the cells that you want to contain the lists. On the ribbon, click DATA Data Validation. In the dialog, set Allow to List. Click in Source, type the text or numbers (separated by commas, for a comma-delimited list) that you want in your drop-down list, and click OK.
To add a drop-down list to a Word document, go to Options Customize Ribbon and enable the Developer tab. Open the Developer tab and click the Drop-Down List Content Control button to insert a drop-down button.
Select the entire worksheet, right-click it, and click Format Cells. In Format Cells, click the Protection tab, uncheck Locked, and click OK.
