Click the Paragraph Dialog Launcher. Now click on the Indents and Spacing tab and then set the line spacing to some exact amount of points. A fair guide is 12-14 points for single spacing and 24-28 points to simulate double spacing. That should pull the footnote text onto the one page.
To keep footnotes on the same page in Word: Open your Word document. Select your footnote near the page footer. Right-click the footnote and select Paragraph. Select the Line and Page Breaks tab. Click to enable the Keep lines together checkbox.
Add a footnote Click where you want to add the footnote. Click Insert Insert Footnote. Word inserts a reference mark in the text and adds the footnote mark at the bottom of the page.
If your footnotes keep moving to another page in Word, its because the contents of the footnote are too large for your pages footer. Your page margins might be too small or the font size might be too big.
To keep the footnote together in Word: Press Ctrl+Shift+S to Apply Styles. Footnote Text. Click Modify. Click Format. Select Paragraph. Under Line and Page Breaks tab. Check box by Keep lines together. Click OK.
If the footnote is shunting the entire paragraph onto the next page, then it is almost certainly because the paragraph is formatted with Keep lines together , which can be found on the Line and Page Breaks page of the Paragraph dialog. Turn this off and Word will flow the paragraph from one page to the next.
First I suggest you click Expansion arrow of Footnotes group choose Below text for Footnotes Apply. Then chose the last line of main text Right click, select Paragraph In the Paragraph dialog box, click the Indents and Spacing tab, and make sure that Spacing After is set to zero.
Add a footnote Click where you want to add the footnote. Click Insert Insert Footnote. Word inserts a reference mark in the text and adds the footnote mark at the bottom of the page.
