Prohibited ammunition Handgun ammunition designed to penetrate body armour; for example: KTW and THV round, 5.7 28 mm (excluding sporting rounds such as SS196SR and SS197SR). Incendiary or explosive ammunition designed for use in or in conjunction with a cartridge and does not exceed 15 mm in diameter.
How much ammunition can you have? A reasonable amount of sporting ammunition is allowed on your property. Reasonable means quantities typically needed for a rifle, handgun or shotgun or for part of a collection. The ammunition must be for your private use, not resale.
Certainly. Its already perfectly legal to make a gun out of cast-plastic, or even metal, and plastic guns arent good for more than one shot if that. There is no such thing as an undetectable gun; even an all-plastic model has to shoot a *metal* bullet.
Individuals may not possess prohibited devices. As a general rule, the maximum magazine capacity is: 5 cartridges for most magazines designed for a semi-automatic, centre-fire long gun. 10 cartridges for most handgun magazines.
Ammunition must be kept in a location where it is not available for loading the firearm, unless both the firearm and its ammunition are securely locked up.
No because there is no registry of guns in most of the United States and definitely no registry of bullets from the guns to match them up to. Even in places where there is registration there is no registry of fired bullets or casings.
Store the ammunition separately or lock it up. It can be stored in the same locked container as the firearms.
The firearm must be stored unloaded. That is pretty straightforward, and it is the same for all classes of firearms, in the possession of anyone. The firearm must be either trigger locked, or have the bolt removed, or must be stored in a secure locked container, receptacle or room. We receive many calls on this.
A: You can buy as much ammo as you want. There will NOT be any quantity or caliber restrictions on the ammo you can buy. The purchase, no matter how big or small, will have to be electronically documented with the DOJ, which we will handle at the point of sale.
