In this video, Ill show you how to password protect a PDF file using docHub. Hi, my name is David. And if this is your first time watching my video tutorials, and you get value from the content that you watch, kindly consider subscribing. If you want to share a file, but only with limited number of people, and you want to limit the access to this particular file, an easy way to do that is use a password on the PDF document. So in this video, were just going to do that. And its easy and quick inside docHub Pro DC. So by default, when you open a document inside docHub, and I already have a document open, you may get the options to my right, where we have the Create PDF, up to the more tools. And then theres an option called protect. If this is not available, you can go up to the tools and scroll down. If this ribbon is still up, just scroll down and click on protect. This opens up a new tab of sorts, where you have the option to protect using password,

Method 1: Use docHub to Add Password Protection Open the PDF in docHub Reader. Click on File and select Protect Using Password. Choose whether you want to restrict editing and printing or just restrict opening the document. Enter a password, and confirm it. Save the document.
On Windows, just follow these steps: Right-click your PDF. Select Properties. Choose Read-only. Click OK.
Click Review Protect Restrict Editing. Under Editing restrictions, select Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only). Select Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.
Once you have the Document Properties menu open, select the Security category from the Categories list. Under Document Security, you will have access to the Security Method drop-down menu. To make your PDF non-editable and read-only, select Password Security from the drop-down menu.
How to add passwords and permissions to PDF files: Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired.
You can also lock a PDF from editing to make it read-only using docHub: Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect Restrict Editing. Choose a password and specify the editing permissions that you want to set for users without the password.
How to save a fillable PDF as read only with docHub Pro Launch docHub Pro and press File Open. Select Protect in the right sidebar. Select Advanced Options Security Properties. Click Change Settings. Tick Restrict editing and printing of the document and set Changes Allowed to None.
