Begin by navigating to the password protection page on Acrobat online. Click the blue button labeled Select a file or drag and drop your PDF into the drop zone to upload. Create a password between 6 and 32 characters.
Check default program settings: Right-click on a PDF file on your computer and select Open With from the context menu. Choose Choose another app or Open With Choose default program. Make sure that Microsoft Word is not selected as the default program for opening PDFs.
You can password-protect a PDF online, using the Google Chrome browser: Drag Drop your file in our password protector; Type and then confirm your new password; Download the secured PDF document.
Open a PDF file in Acrobat DC. Click on the Export PDF tool in the right pane. . Choose Microsoft Word as your export format, and then choose Word Document. Click Export. If your PDF contains scanned text, the Acrobat Word converter will run text recognition automatically. Save your new Word file:
On Windows, just follow these steps: Right-click your PDF. Select Properties. Choose Read-only. Click OK.
How to add passwords and permissions to PDF files: Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired. Click OK and then click Save.
If your PDF file has a permission password set, you need to authenticate with that password before proceeding to the next part. Once authenticated, you can select the export settings and destination folder on your PC. Now, the locked PDF will be converted into a Word document.
