Separate pages with a PDF reader. Open your PDF in Preview. Navigate to File Print. A new dialog box will appear. Under Pages, select the page number you want to save separately. From the dropdown, change from PDF to Save as PDF. Choose your desired location for the new file and select Save.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. Choose File Edit Permissions, then do any of the following: Set a password for opening the PDF: Select Require Password To Open Document. Enter a password, then retype it to verify.

In the dialog box that appears, select your desired settings for the position, style, and appearance of the page numbers. Click OK.
Select Tools Edit PDF Add Header + Footer Add. In the top bar, youll have the option to choose the location of your page numbers within the header or footer.
Steps to add page numbers to a PDF: In the top navigation bar, select Edit Number Pages. To select a PDF file and add numbers to it, follow one of these steps, and then select Continue. Choose a file from the Recents or Documents list.
